The 125 meter long Skybridge in the extreme northwest of Malaysia on Lankawi is the longest free-floating suspension bridge in the world. This curving pedestrian cable-stayed bridge sits nearly 700m on Gunung Machinchang and was completed in 2005. The bridge is an architectural marvel. The curved bridge hangs from a single 82 meter high mast. The bridge is 1.80 meters wide.

One of the main landmarks and main attractions on the island of Langkawi is the Langkawi Cable Car. The gondola, also known as the Langkawi SkyCab, takes visitors 900 meters via air link to the top of Gunung Machinchang.

The Langkawi Cable Car, also known as the Langkawi SkyCab, is a gondola lift and one of the main attractions on the island of Langkawi (Malaysia). It opened on November 1, 2002. It is one of the steepest single-wire ropeways in the world. The incline is a whopping 420 degrees. Each gondola can accommodate up to 6 people, with a total capacity of 480 kilograms. The distance covered by the cable car is 919.5 meters. The goal is Langkawi’s second highest mountain, Mount Machinchang, which is at 705 m. This is one of the oldest rock formations in Southeast Asia, formed about 550 million years ago. At an altitude of 650 meters there is already a stopover. Already there you can enjoy a spectacular 360-degree all-round view. Then we continue to Gunung Machinchang, to the 705 meter high peak. An important and popular attraction of the island of Langkawi is the large aquarium Underwater World Langkawi. This is one of the largest aquariums in Southeast Asia with 200 species of marine and freshwater animals. It is also known for its spectacular “penguinaria”. The Underwater World sea aquarium is not only worth a visit when the weather is bad. In the aquarium, which is one of the largest aquariums in Southeast Asia, you will find up to 200 species of marine and freshwater animals. The family-friendly aquarium features a fascinating glass tunnel that leads through a saltwater tank. This 15 meter long tunnel is surrounded by an aquarium filled with 550,000 liters of sea water. As visitors walk through it, they encounter large sea creatures such as sharks and rays. Don’t worry, they’ll stay dry.

The Aquarium Underwater World also offers various themed areas. There is a coral and a reptile tank as well as sections dedicated to the South African rainforest and the Antarctic fauna. There is also a freshwater fish section, the shell exhibition and a koi pond.

The building covers a total of 5,500 square meters of built-up area. The different zones that are shown are particularly interesting. There is a tropical rainforest and ecosystems from the temperate and sub-polar zones. The latter include the spectacular “Penguinarium” with an underwater tunnel for visitors to see the swimming penguins.

There is also a duty-free shopping center, restaurants and a 3D cinema on the 3,200 square meter oceanarium.
